Position description
The Department of Communication within the School of Social
Sciences at the University of California, San Diego, is seeking to
make appointments at the Lecturer Academic Year (Unit 18-Non-Senate
Faculty) level. Responsibilities entail the effective instruction
of students, teaching classes in accordance with course objectives
and published schedules, advising students on academic matters and
maintaining an active interest in the advances/current thinking in
their subject area.
The Department of Communication at the University of California,

Qualifications
Basic qualifications (required at time of application)
Ph.D. in Communication (or in a related discipline), or Advancement
to Candidacy, or at least 7 years of professional experience in
media, journalism or communication-related field at the time of
application submission.
Additional qualifications (required at time of start)
Ph.D. in Communication (or in a related discipline), or at least 7
years of professional experience in media, journalism or
communication-related field at the time of appointment.
