Position title:
Cornea Genetics Laboratory
Salary range:
The posted UC Salary scales set the minimum pay at the appointment
as determined by appointment type and if applicable, rank and/or
step. The base pay range for this position is $87,000- $90,000.
Salary is negotiated annually. Additional compensation may be
available if the position includes membership in the Health

Position description
The Cornea Genetics and Regeneration Laboratory at the Shiley Eye
Institute, University of California, San Diego, is committed to
academic excellence and diversity within the faculty, staff, and
student body and is currently seeking a highly motivated individual
for the position of Associate Project Scientist. This role offers a
unique opportunity for an individual with a passion for advancing
our understanding of basic corneal genetics, regeneration and
biology, as well as translating research findings into clinical
applications.

Appointment will be at the Associate level in the Project Scientist
series.

Qualifications
Basic qualifications (required at time of application)
Candidates must have a PhD in Biological Sciences.
Candidates must have a minimum of six years of laboratory
experience.
Candidates must have a minimum of ten publications.
Candidates must have a minimum of six years of research
experience.
Preferred qualifications
Candidates with experience with corneal imaging, molecular
biological methods, protein analysis techniques (e.g., western
blotting, immunohistochemistry, ELISA), image analysis, and
confocal microscopy are preferred.
Candidates with bioinformatics analysis skills are preferred.
Candidates with laboratory experience in cornea genetics are
preferred.
